For years, I struggled with exhaustion that I couldn't explain. No matter how much I slept, I woke up tired. My hair was thinning. My mood felt flat. I thought it was just stress, or maybe I needed to eat better, or work out more.

Then I got my blood work done. My vitamin D level was 18 ng/mL—severely deficient. My doctor told me to take a standard 1,000 IU supplement. I did. Nothing changed.

That's when I started researching. I learned that 82% of Black women are vitamin D deficient—not because we're doing something wrong, but because our melanin (the same melanin that protects us from UV damage) blocks up to 90% of the vitamin D our bodies would normally produce from sunlight.

So I found a naturopath who understood melanin and vitamin D. She put me on 10,000 IU of D3 with K2. Within three weeks, I had energy again. Within two months, my hair stopped shedding. Within three months, I felt like myself for the first time in years.

But here's what frustrated me: I had to piece this together myself. I had to educate myself, advocate for myself, and search for a formula that actually worked.
